Sollipulli Traverse

We will cross a huge glaciar to arrive to wild geisers

We leave early from the city of Temuco in the direction of Melipeuco to reach the entrance to the path that goes to the Sollipulli peak, from where we will begin our trek through beautiful forests and in a couple of hours we will reach the edge of the glacier that houses its crater, the which we will cross entirely to make a first camp on its southwest slope. The next day we will continue the journey down the valley of the river Alpehue to reach the hot springs and geysers of Queupude, place of our second camp and where we will enjoy the benefits of the place. The third day we will go down the incredible river and its canyons to get to the transfer that will be waiting for us and will take us to a dream place, where we can relax, eat a delicious barbecue and close the activity.

 

Schedule:

Departure: Day 1: 06:00 AM from Las Heras # 345, Rutas Australes office.

Arrival (Approx): Day 2: 20:00 Hrs.

Equipment required per person:

1 backpack of minimum 45 liters
1 sleeping bag (Ideally for 0º or less)
1 insulating mat (Ideally inflatable, or 2 normal)
1 pair of trekking or mountain shoes ideally
1 Second pair of shoes or shoes for replacement when you arrive at the transfer
Replacement clothes when returning to the transfer
1 flashlight (ideally frontal)
2 pair of gloves (polar and / or waterproof)
1 penknife
Sun glasses with UV protection
Sun hat
Hat for the cold
1 trekking pants
1 waterproof or windproof jacket
1 polar jacket
1 coat jacket (pen or synthetic)
2 poleras (ideal synthetic and long sleeves)
1 bottle of 1 liter minimum
1 extra pair of socks.
